Main ZoneX functions are based on PHPBB code, therefore ZoneX has all PHPBB features but ZoneX has a lot of additional features which could be very useful for every community type.
ZoneX main features are:
- New forum search engine (mnoGoSearch) ZoneX has the integration of mnoGoSearch instead of default PHPBB search, which is a big improvement considering that PHPBB internal search engine was one of biggest flaws by PHPBB.
- Forum Search Engine Optimization (SEO) ZoneX forums bring new solutions that will ensure better search engines indexing. All topics and forum pages are automatically rewritten in static html form and search engines will index them as such. This will improve the Search Engine Ranking on dominant search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ask, etc.
- Popular topics engine This engine will give you ability to sort most popular topics by most relevant search keywords on your web site. It uses entered keywords and search for forum databases which contain these keywords in their titles.
- Related topics engine Similarly to Popular topics, Related Topics should help your forum users to find topics they are most interested in. This engine checks the title of the topic user is currently viewing and searches forum database to find all other topics that have similar titles.
- Feedback engine Feedback engine will give you the ability to improve your content and to interact with your members and site visitors more intensive then before. Integrated statistics and ability to give more attention to your user to satisfy their interests will rapidly increase the posting rate on your forums.
- Vote contest / Wishlist One another feature which could stimulate your users to write more posts, as well as to get even more feedback, is called vote contest system.
Vote contest is a powerful tool to to motivate members to write more accurate and qualitative content then before. Of course, the reward should be catchy and attractive enough to catch members attention. This kind of contest allows forum members to create its own list of products (from your or another site) up to given reward sum.
- News and Announcements Teasers To keep your users up to date on newest events or global announcements on your forums, we developed News and Announcement Teasers which are placed on the top of your home page.
This feature is integrated into new ZoneX front page look with ability to moderate it through backend or to place it elsewhere on your site template.
- Forum Newsletter and Forward to Friend Also an insuppressible feature is Zonex Newsletter subscription engine with integrated Forward to Frend form. Together with all the previous features, this one is also an adjustable and integrated part of ZoneX administration panel.
- Editable Advertising, Contact, Terms and Privacy Policy pages These pages are dynamically driven from ZoneX administrator panel.
- ZoneX template system and forum theme ZoneX 1.0 forums use template system that differs from phpBB 2.0. As ZoneX 1.0 forums contain many new features, additional template pages were needed. Therefore, in ZoneX 1.0 forums you can use only templates and theme specially designed for it.
- Language notes Majority of forum pages are using language files and, therefore, can be displayed in desired language (of course, that language pack must be installed).
But, all pages whose content is editable through administration panel can be displayed only in one language. Accurately, those pages will display text entered through administration panel as it is.
This rule applies for all editable sections of the site (message of the Forward to Friend invitaiton e-mail, feedback questions, terms and conditions, etc).
